Truck Driver I

About the role

Linde Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver I for their East Chicago, IN location. This position requires a CDL Class A license with Hazmat endorsement, along with the ability to pass pre-employment physicals, DOT physicals, and random drug and alcohol tests.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with colleagues and customers
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance
• Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections
• Load/unload and secure assets according to DOT standards
• Complete driving documentation accurately
• Plan and schedule delivery routes efficiently
• Attend and participate in safety meetings
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of company trucks

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred
• CDL Class A license with Hazmat endorsement
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, DOT physical, and random drug & alcohol testing
• Willingness to work shifts as per DOT guidelines, including possible layovers, evenings, weekends, and call outs
• Computer proficiency: Excel, Word, Email, Electronic Logs, handheld scanner
• Strong communication skills: both verbal and written
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
• Willing and able to travel up to 40%

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles transporting hazardous materials and cryogenic liquids
• Experience working around high-pressure gas, cryogenic liquid, and rotating equipment
• Strong work ethic and reliability
