Truck Driver - Equipment Hauler

About the role

We are a San Diego–based transportation company looking to hire an additional driver out of our Chula Vista yard. This is a local position reporting to Chula Vista every day but covering Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Inland Empire.

Transport construction equipment using a semi-truck with hydraulic tail trailer and a 3-axle rollback. Load, unload, secure, and deliver machinery and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and required documentation.
• Secure loads properly using chains and binders.
• Safely load, transport, and offload construction equipment.
• Comply with all company safety policies and FMCSA regulations.
• Provide professional customer service at job sites.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean and acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years DOT-regulated commercial driving experience.
• Proven experience transporting construction equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and wheel loaders.
• Experience using chains and binders.
• Manual transmission experience.

Qualifications

• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of construction equipment and safe hauling practices.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, 40–60 hours per week.
• Possibly one Saturday a month.
• Start and end times vary daily (flexibility is required).
