Truck Driver Class B Local Home Daily

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight or assist with loading/unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide a valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for the position.
• Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years experience within the past 5 years, OR
  • 5 years experience within the past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• USPS secondary background screen – Federal Level 2 (required for this account).
• Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless legally exempt.

Pay

Average weekly earnings of $1,357. Hourly rate of $27.83 per hour plus a $6.11 per hour health & wellness stipend. Paid training provided.

Schedule

Monday – Saturday, early‑morning start at 3:50 AM. Typical hours are 40+ hours per week.

Equipment and Route

Drive a straight‑truck (26 ft) equipped with pallet jack and rolling carts. Deliver within a 150‑mile radius of Lehigh, PA on a local home‑daily route, handling tailgate deliveries for U.S. Mail. Ryder provides training on all equipment and operates well‑maintained trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations.
