About the Role
As a CDL-A Driver, you will drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, function as a team member, and perform any assigned duties to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or needed repairs.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route and schedule; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
- Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy.
- Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures; collect payments where required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked/secured.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork, and perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area.
- Complete daily records of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
- At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Valid CDL-A license.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass a road test.
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
- Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights (10–90 pounds) throughout the shift.
Pay
Starting at $27.00 an hour.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, with weekends off.
- Dispatch time: 4:30 AM.
- 4–5 day work week.
