Truck Driver CDL Class B

About the role

Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks to pick up bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. They transport the material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, often making multiple trips per shift. The position may require repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, moving and maneuvering up to 100 pounds, and mounting/dismounting the truck multiple times per route. Both manual and automatic trucks are deployed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for waste/recyclable material pick-up.
• Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, making one or more trips per shift.
• Lift and maneuver heavy materials (up to 50–100 pounds) and mount/dismount the truck repeatedly.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and traffic regulations.
• Converse with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete legible reports.
• Work required hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed under DOT regulations.

Requirements

• 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete reports.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.

Pay

Pay range for the position is between $25.42 and $27.43 per hour.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours.
