Truck Driver - CDL Class A - Penske Logistics

Average annual pay: $88,000, plus $63 per layover and up to $1,200 in additional bonus earnings.

About the role

Drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks with best-in-class specs designed for comfort and safety, including inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras. Deliver commercial electrical products to customers on an over-the-road (OTR) schedule with no-touch freight and two consecutive days off per week. Potential to dispatch Sunday and return home Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain a Class A tractor-trailer
• Deliver commercial electrical products to customer locations
• Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations
• Represent Penske and client brands while driving branded trucks and wearing company-provided uniforms
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance
• Complete required documentation and comply with DOT regulations

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required
• Domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years
• 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• English language proficiency (required by federal law for compliance with 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Pass background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to see and hear, with specific vision requirements including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting
• Regular use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Frequent and safe entry/exit of vehicle and rear cargo area
• Legal ability to operate a motor vehicle
