Truck Driver CDL (B) Commercial

About the role

A Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. Responsibilities include ensuring the vehicle meets the Company’s safety standards, adhering to all Company, state and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address defects promptly.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order; report any safety issues.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as identified or assigned.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility in accordance with Company safety policies.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Clean areas around accidental waste spills, adhering to all applicable safety standards and policies.
• Monitor the vehicle’s condition to ensure operational readiness, minimize downtime, and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body as appropriate on each disposal trip.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other reports as required.
• Maintain adherence to required productivity standards to ensure timely and efficient service for all customers.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
