About the Role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Harvard, IL, offering a driving career with competitive pay, excellent benefits, and well-maintained equipment. Deliver hardware supplies on regional routes with a day cab and dry van trailer (31'-53').

Pay

• Average Weekly Pay: $1700 (top earners can make up to $2000+)
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.60 per mile (2000 miles per week)
• Stops Pay: $26.00 per stop (15 stops per week)
• Per Diem Pay: $40.00 per night (1-2 nights per week)
• Travel Time Pay: $27.00 for overnights (Ryder books and pays for hotel)
• Sign-On Bonus: $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days
• Loyalty Bonus: $2500 at 6 months and $2500 at 1 year

Schedule

• Hours Per Week: 50+ hours
• Shifts: Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday
• Start Time: AM or PM shifts available

Equipment & Route Details

• Route: Regional (varies)
• Tractor Type: Day cab
• Trailer Type: Dry van (31'-53')
• Equipment: Electric & manual pallet jack (training provided)
• Freight: Touch – hardware supplies
• Endorsements: Hazmat required within 90 days of hire (Ryder reimburses cost and provides training)
• Truck Maintenance: Well-maintained trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside assistance and fueling at 800+ nationwide locations

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A CDL with verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
