Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Louisville, KY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.
Pay
- Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour
- Hours Per Week: 40+ hours
- Earn extra $1/hour for every 3 endorsements/certifications
- Per Diem Pay: $50 per night for overnights on route (Ryder booked hotel or sleeper)
- Tenure Bonus: $1000 each year
- Weekly pay of $2000 or more
Schedule
- Monday – Friday (must be flexible)
About the role
- Deliver SOLO to: IN, OH, MI, TN & KY
- Route: Regional
- Tractor Type: Day Cabs and Sleepers (possibility of 26' Straight Truck)
- Trailer Type: 48' - 53' Flatbeds, Dry Vans, Reefers, Conestogas, Curtainsides and Containers
- Equipment: pallet jack, lift gate, rollers or Moffett (Ryder will train on all equipment needed)
- Freight: Mix of touch and no-touch
- 1 year of flatbed experience required
- Hazmat, Tanker & Doubles/Triples endorsements required
- Experience with strapping, chaining & tarping
- Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
- Some positions may require additional screening (employment/education verification, motor vehicle records, badging, or customer background requirements)
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
