Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Louisville, KY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay

  • Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour
  • Hours Per Week: 40+ hours
  • Earn extra $1/hour for every 3 endorsements/certifications
  • Per Diem Pay: $50 per night for overnights on route (Ryder booked hotel or sleeper)
  • Tenure Bonus: $1000 each year
  • Weekly pay of $2000 or more

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday (must be flexible)

About the role

  • Deliver SOLO to: IN, OH, MI, TN & KY
  • Route: Regional
  • Tractor Type: Day Cabs and Sleepers (possibility of 26' Straight Truck)
  • Trailer Type: 48' - 53' Flatbeds, Dry Vans, Reefers, Conestogas, Curtainsides and Containers
  • Equipment: pallet jack, lift gate, rollers or Moffett (Ryder will train on all equipment needed)
  • Freight: Mix of touch and no-touch
  • 1 year of flatbed experience required
  • Hazmat, Tanker & Doubles/Triples endorsements required
  • Experience with strapping, chaining & tarping
  • Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions may require additional screening (employment/education verification, motor vehicle records, badging, or customer background requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
