Ryder is hiring a Part Time Class A CDL Truck Driver in Hayward, CA — offering weekly pay and a driving career you can feel good about.

About the role

  • Deliver solo on a home-daily route from Hayward to San Francisco
  • Tractor: Day Cab
  • Trailer: 28’ Pup Trailer
  • Freight: Touch – Hardware Supplies
  • Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful
  • Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide
  • Hazmat endorsement required — must be willing to obtain within 30-60 days of hire

Pay

  • Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
  • Hours Per Week: 16 - 20 hours
  • Paid weekly; drivers on this account earn $448 or more weekly
  • Paid training

Schedule

  • Monday and Wednesday
  • Start Time: 5:00 AM - 5:30 AM

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
