About the role
TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing branch in Norco, LA. Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience, pass a background check and drug test, and perform a skills verification test on site before hire.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cargo.
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
- Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
- Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Keep a log of their activities.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
Requirements
- Current state-issued Class A CDL Driver’s License.
- 3 years of commercial driving experience.
- Ability to interpret, read manuals, and write reports in English.
- Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to provide proper hand signals to crane and truck operators.
- Ability to verbally communicate safety issues to customers and other workers on location before and during job tasks.
- Ability to work at heights and use all PPE required for fall protection correctly.
- Ability to perform physiological movements and actions associated with heavy work, including bending, stooping, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), twisting, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting, and standing.
- Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspecting equipment, and completing paperwork.
- Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with customers and coworkers.
- Other duties as assigned.
