Reports to: Branch Manager

About the role

TNT is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing branch. We are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
  • Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
  • Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
  • Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
  • Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Keep a log of their activities.
  • Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Must have a current state-issued Class A CDL Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

Skills

  • Ability to interpret, read manuals, and write reports in English.
  • Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide proper hand signals to crane and truck operators.
  • Ability to verbally communicate safety issues to customers and other workers on location before and during job tasks.
  • Ability to work at heights and use all PPE required for fall protection correctly.
  • Ability to employ physiological movements and actions associated with heavy work: bending, stooping, lifting (ability to lift 75 lbs.), twisting, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting, and standing.
  • Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspection of equipment, and completion of paperwork.
  • Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with customers and coworkers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
