About the Role
We are looking for a Truck Driver to join our Rexel USA team in Hartford, CT. The Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products to/from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and company suppliers in a delivery van or box truck (No CDL required). Responsibilities include ensuring deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements efficiently, and materials are correct and free of damage.
Responsibilities
- Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete a daily inspection report.
- Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of repair and/or service needs.
- Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
- Load or unload vehicle and verify all material for each order is correct (quantity and type) and free of damage before departure.
- May assist in preparing orders for delivery.
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery, including signed delivery receipts, packing lists, and branch/warehouse manifests.
- Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, quantities, and catalog numbers.
- Pick up material from company suppliers.
- Senior Truck Drivers will train entry-level drivers and provide mentorship.
- May perform other branch duties, including counter sales, order preparation, receiving, stocking, staging, shipping, and maintaining branch equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must attend company driver training if no prior experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
- Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
- Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
Skills
- Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not exceeding 26,000 GVW.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.

Pay
For the state of Connecticut only, the pay range is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
