TRUCK DRIVER (32995)

Position Summary

Drives truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

• Deliver and pick up equipment as needed for rental, service, used equipment, and new sales departments
• Obey all traffic and safety rules according to DOT regulations
• Prepares receipts for load picked up
• Maintains truck log, according to State and Federal regulations
• Maintains telephone contact with supervisor and/or customers to receive delivery instructions
• Loads and unloads truck in a safe manner according to DOT regulations
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water and reports any needed repairs to the supervisor
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs
• Positions blocks and ties straps/chains around items to secure cargo during transit according to DOT regulations
• Turn in accurate paperwork in a timely manner
• Must keep the delivery truck clean at all times (inside and out)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates & Licenses: Must have and maintain a valid class A CDL license. Must have and maintain a good driving record for insurance purposes.

Work environment varies from office to job site to industrial locations.
