Truck Driver - 2nd Shift(Automotive Manufacturing)

About the role

The driver is responsible for transporting parts and materials between Drake headquarters and customers and suppliers. This position will mostly be delivering and picking up locally. This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position regularly requiring at least 40 hours per week. Work environment: Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and temperature changes. PPE required.

Responsibilities

• Loading, transporting, delivering and picking up items in a safe, timely manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.
• Making payments for items at the time of pick up when necessary.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Make boxes, peeling stickers and breaking down boxes as needed.
• Assist the warehouse with packaging duties as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety and MIOSHA requirements.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Participate in training and meetings.
• Follow all company Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Standards of Conduct policies.
• Report safety or quality concerns in a timely manner.
• Understand and implement Drake Driven Core Values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 21 years old (DOT requirement)
• Valid CDL(Class A) state of Michigan license
• DOT Card
• 5 years’ experience required
• Clean driving record
• Hilo experience required

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Physical stamina for production work.
• Ability to climb in and out of the truck, and other physical requirements of this position.
