TRIO Chaperone
Temporary position within the Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA), which supports all students at NC State through guidance, community-building, and holistic development.
About the role
The Upward Bound Program is an early intervention pre-college initiative that prepares high school students for higher education. The program serves 186 students annually from five high schools (Vance, Louisburg, Bunn, Franklinton, and East Wake) through instruction in mathematics, laboratory sciences, composition, literature, and foreign languages, as well as tutoring, counseling, mentoring, cultural enrichment, and work-study programs. The NC State University Upward Bound Program has been active since 1978, assisting hundreds of students in enrolling in and completing college.
Chaperones will monitor student transportation to and from program activities, provide head counts for TRIO staff, and assist program staff during activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor transportation of students to and from program activities.
- Provide head counts for TRIO staff.
- Assist program staff with students during activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Valid NC Driver’s License (not commercial).
