Trimmer/Floor Cleaner-First Shift
About the Role
This position is responsible for keeping the tiromat equipment adequately supplied with cooked potatoes at all times. The role requires compliance with safety work rules, reinforcement of safety as a core value, and adherence to all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety and quality to reduce product and process variability.
Responsibilities
- Empty baskets of cooked potatoes into the stainless steel hopper feeding into the tiromat.
- Follow all good manufacturing practices (GMPs) related to food handling.
- Move empty baskets onto the basket wash conveyor for sanitizing.
- Ensure potatoes are not contaminated by frequent use of hand dip stations in accordance with GMPs.
- Assist with clean-up at the end of the production shift.
- Visually inspect potatoes to ensure the correct product is on the packaging line.
- Effectively communicate relevant information to fellow employees on the shift.
- Adhere to safe work practices, all safety policies and procedures, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained.
- Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
- Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Food Handler’s Permit, Clark County Health Department.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $15.50 to $17.25 per hour.
