About the role
Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the Trimmer is responsible for trimming, flaming, finishing plastic parts and sorting/counting order quantities. 3rd Shift Hours (10pm- 6am, Sunday - Thursday)

Responsibilities
- Trim excess plastic from parting lines
- Inspect product and communicate findings back to the machine operators
- Assemble product in accordance with the specific work instructions
- Data entry and basic computer functions
- Select correct hand tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance
- Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
- Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system
- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance
- Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues
- Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team
- Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level
- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED Equivalent is preferred. Previous experience working within a highly technical environment. Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, and transport product and materials short distances
- Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively in a team-environment
- Ability to work safely and without injury with hand tools in an environment with metal and sharp objects
- Strong metal grinding, forming and basic fabrication background
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure online manuals
- Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids
- Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance
- Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired
- Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change
- Work in an efficient and timely manner
- Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently
