About the role
Performs duties to trim, fill, sand, and bond to prepare a variety of standard composite parts in accordance with shop orders, oral and written instructions, and blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Ensures composite assemblies meet bonding cure specifications.
- Hand trims composite panels ensuring they meet quality requirements and engineering dimensions.
- Prepares composite surfaces by filling and sanding to a smooth surface.
- Uses small hand tools, sanders, drills, routers, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Responsible only for own work.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
- Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class is preferred.
- 6+ months of composites experience required.
Working Conditions
- Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes, and liquids.
- Safety shoes and protective clothing may be required.
