About the role
The Vertex Companies is building a pipeline of Trial Technology professionals to support future growth within our Visual Communications practice. Trial Technology professionals will ensure that the technology, digital evidence, and presentation systems supporting litigation proceedings are organized, reliable, and ready when needed. Working alongside attorneys, expert witnesses, and project teams, you'll prepare and organize exhibits, operate trial presentation software, troubleshoot technical challenges, and help ensure presentations are delivered accurately and efficiently in the courtroom, deposition room, arbitration, mediation, or other litigation settings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary trial technology consultant and hot seat operator, presenting exhibits, demonstratives, video testimony, and electronic evidence during trials, arbitrations, hearings, and depositions.
- Prepare, organize, and quality-check trial presentation databases, exhibits, witness materials, and multimedia evidence for use in proceedings, including exhibit stamping.
- Partner with attorneys, experts, and visual communications teams to ensure presentations and demonstratives effectively support case strategy.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot courtroom, war room, and remote-hearing technology, including presentation software, audio/visual equipment, and virtual platforms.
- Provide real-time courtroom support, including exhibit retrieval, document comparisons, impeachment materials, and last-minute presentation requests.
- Travel throughout the United States, including extended assignments during active trial engagements, as business needs require.
Requirements
We welcome candidates ranging from early-career professionals to experienced litigation technology specialists with backgrounds in one or more of the following areas:
- Deep expertise with OnCue, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and deposition video software.
- Prior experience supporting trials, arbitrations, hearings, or complex commercial litigation matters.
- Experience with Multi-District Litigation (MDL) preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and in high-stakes environments.
