Key Responsibilities
- Serve as lead counsel on trials, arbitrations, and mediations in state and federal courts.
- Develop litigation strategy, conduct depositions, and argue motions.
- Prepare witnesses, experts, and clients for trial.
- Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and trial documents.
- Analyze case facts, legal issues, and exposure to develop resolution strategies.
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
- Manage litigation files independently, with support from paralegals and junior attorneys.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience, including first- or second-chair trial experience.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury, workers' compensation, auto claims, premises liability, and/or maritime law.
- Excellent courtroom, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a full caseload and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with insurance carriers and understanding billing practices.
- Strategic thinker with strong writing and case management skills.
- Bilingual a plus.
