Trial Attorney

About the role

The firm is seeking a Trial Attorney - Insurance Defense Litigation with first-chair trial experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement. This role is ideal for a courtroom-driven litigator who takes ownership from inception through verdict.

Responsibilities

• Lead cases as first-chair trial counsel from inception through verdict
• Develop and execute litigation and trial strategy on complex matters
• Handle all aspects of discovery including taking and defending depositions
• Draft and argue dispositive and pretrial motions
• Manage pretrial proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case evaluation and trial preparation
• Mentor associates and contribute to a team-oriented trial culture

Qualifications

• 7+ years of civil litigation experience with first-chair trial experience to verdict
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Strong courtroom presence with confidence handling juries, judges, and witnesses
• Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and case strategy skills
• Experience handling high-exposure insurance defense matters
• Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring junior attorneys

Pay

Salary range: $190,000-$250,000+ contingent on experience
