Triage RN | Prefontaine Clinic - PRN
Job Description
Within the scope of practice defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Clinic Triage Registered Nurse provides comprehensive clinical assessment, triage, care coordination, and patient education in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting. This role serves as a key clinical resource for patients, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team by conducting in-person and telephonic nurse visits, responding to symptom-based triage, and facilitating timely access to care, testing, medications, and follow-up services. The Clinic Triage RN applies the nursing process to evaluate patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and support continuity of care across the healthcare continuum. This position emphasizes proactive patient management, clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and navigation of healthcare services to optimize patient outcomes, safety, and experience.

- Proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
- Demonstrates above average technical skills and knowledge.
- Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills.
- Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently.
- Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations.
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degress
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) – current at time of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Cardiovascular care & procedure knowledge desired.
- Outpatient Clinic experience preferred.
- Cardiology clinic experience preferred.
- Acute hospital care experience preferred.

Compensation
The minimum and maximum rates for this position are $47.82 USD and $71.26 USD respectively, reflecting the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job.
Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements
- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Requires frequent use of personal computer.
- Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
