Triage Nurse (32062)

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Triage Nurse to handle patient assessments and respond to patient needs over the phone, collaborating with providers to ensure quality care in compliance with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, prioritizes, and responds to triage needs on the phone line.
• Responds to patient inquiries, prioritizing and routing urgent situations to a physician or provider.
• Talks directly to patients to schedule appointments during office hours.
• Maintains accurate and detailed documentation while following patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Arranges appointments for patients who need to see a physician and consults with physicians as needed.
• Delivers patient education based on individualized needs and as prescribed by the provider or group policy.
• Serves as a clinical resource and professional role model for other staff.
• Prioritizes work tasks and completes them in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate, clear, and concise progress notes, problem lists, and medication lists.
• Communicates respectfully with staff, consultants, and patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Active and valid nursing license in good standing from the state where the practice is located.
• One (1) year of triage experience preferred.
