About the Role
Part-time, year-round position responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bar; preparing and serving drinks; and updating the wine list and inventory. Must be available weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties
- Set up and stock the bar at the beginning and end of each shift and keep bar clean and organized at all times
- Buff glasses
- Maintain knowledge and compliance of Utah liquor laws
- Learn all drinks and obtain a good knowledge of wines
- Prepare all drinks/wine for the guests and serve as needed
- Update lead bartender of any items that have been 86'd
- Complete end of the month inventory
- Update wine list with current vintages
- Provide wine service when needed
- Run food when needed
- Run evening bar report for reconciliation
- Be available for wine and liquor deliveries
Qualifications
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 21 years of age or older.
Certifications & Licenses
- Must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment
- Must have or obtain a current alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Noise level is usually quiet
Schedule
Monday - Sunday, 4 PM - 11 PM (approximately). Part-Time, Year Round. Must be available weekends and holidays.
Pay
$7.50/Hour + Tips
