Tree Care Groundperson

Position Overview

Davey Tree Expert Company is one of the largest employee‑owned companies in the nation, focused on safety, community partnerships, and delivering unrivaled client service in horticultural and environmental services. The role is an on‑site Tree Care Groundperson position based in Nashville, TN.

What You’ll Do

• Assist climbers, foremen, and other crew members with tree pruning and removal services.
• Perform pruning, thinning, and dead‑wood removal throughout the tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees safely and skillfully.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Contribute to a progressive greenspace stewardship team.

What We’re Looking For

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
• Preferred: Previous experience in tree care or a related industry.

Pay

Hourly pay from $20.00 – $22.00 based on experience.

Schedule

Full‑time, permanent position. Work site is on‑site in Nashville, TN. Travel expectations up to 25 %.
