About the role
Treatment Supervisors at Abraxas Youth and Family Services play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both clients and employees. They are responsible for maintaining schedules, interviewing candidates, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage and safety
- Select most qualified candidates among internal applicants for posted positions
- Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities
- Interview and select most qualified candidates among internal applicants for posted positions
- Structure, implement, and facilitate new employee on-the-job orientation
- Write professional development plans in conjunction with employees to aid in their training and development
- Conduct effective supervisory conferences and performance evaluations with employees, document the content of such meetings and evaluations, and provide feedback
- Determine and implement progressive discipline when needed according to the applicable policy
- Respond to step I grievances
- Schedule employee training to ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met
- Provide ongoing effective supervision to unit employees and monitor case management activities
- Schedule team meetings, plan and implement agendas, and implement activities to promote teamwork and communication within the unit
- Support the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promote the Seven Key Principles of care
- Demonstrate appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and provide effective supervision to staff regarding the use of SCM
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or 60 college credits and three years experience working with children; OR Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience working with children
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI)
- Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence
- Valid registered vehicle insurance
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
