Treatment Plant Quote Specialist

Job Summary

Support and quote all projects for customers. Support the Critical Infrastructure Group by providing technical information and product knowledge. Provide a high level of customer service while ensuring quotes are distributed to customers in a timely fashion.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

• Manage and source pricing for items across Core & Main’s scope of work on contractor projects, meeting internal and external deadlines to generate quotations that comply with specifications and/or customer requirements.
• Prepares formal quotations and submittals under the direction of estimators and sales team.
• Revise quotes and update pricing per addendums.
• Manages incoming RFQs, working with the sales team and the customer to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Affords support to our estimating team with maintaining the bid calendar and ensuring quotes are delivered in a timely fashion.
• Acts as focal point for questions concerning specifics of quotes and proposals.
• Prepares monthly reports tracking quotation activity.
• Identifies opportunities for improving the quotation process and reports them to management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
• Generally, 2+ years of experience in the waterworks industry.
• Experience preparing and pricing quotes for contractors, preferably on large heavy/civil and/or treatment plant projects.
• Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications as needed during the process of preparing customer quotations.

Environmental Job Requirements

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
• On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area.
• Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
