About the role
Reporting to the International Controller, the Assistant International Controller is responsible for financial proceedings of APAC and/or LATAM legal entities, subsidiaries of Monster. This position ensures compliance with GAAP and Country Accounting Standards, supervises the monthly and quarterly close process, and oversees balance sheet reconciliations. You will also help create and implement policies to resolve accounting issues and improve the efficiency and accuracy of close and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Financial statement preparation – ensure all international subsidiary ledgers and reports are closed timely and accurately, including account reconciliations and reviews.
- Review and enhance internal controls, proposing and implementing new or amended control procedures.
- Ensure international finance teams prepare financial information monthly/quarterly/annually using approved company financial reporting tools.
- Review general ledger account analyses and monitor accounting activities for international entities.
- Oversee country-specific statutory audits, corporate income tax returns, and required indirect and direct tax returns.
- Maintain records systems in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
- Assist in the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close process and manage preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP; drive efficiencies to reduce close cycle time.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting with a strong focus on AP and AR.
- Manage Accounting Managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required).
- CPA / CA / MBA – Finance (preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Strong experience in private and public accounting sectors (preferred).
- Conscientious about timeliness and quality of work.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate recommendations concisely.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining control and order.
- Strong GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
- Exceptional work ethic.
- Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience leading and developing accounting personnel.
- Prior experience in some of the following areas: inventory accounting, foreign income taxes, VAT filings, payroll, travel accounting, accounts payable, and business systems.
- Hands-on and detail-oriented.
- Ability to travel up to 10%+.
Pay
Estimated annual salary range: $70,304 – $82,000 USD.
