About the role

The Treasury Management Consultant (TMC) is responsible for generating new revenue and developing full-service Treasury Management (TM) relationships with new and existing clients in an assigned commercial banking segment. This role is focused on Corporate clients. They partner with Commercial Relationship Managers (Corporate, Specialty, Commercial, Business Banking, etc.) and other internal business partners to advise on deposit, TM, risk, and other liquidity needs for clients and prospects.

The TMC builds a book of business by finding new clients, prospecting new relationships, growing deposits, maintaining, and cross-selling ONB products and services to existing clients. If the portfolio is large and/or complex, maintaining and cross-selling may be handled by a TMC focused on the existing portfolio. Seen as a trusted advisor, the TMC works closely with Commercial clients to understand their business, optimize cash flow, and minimize financial risk.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Sales Targets:
    • Devise and execute a plan to achieve sales goals and drive fee income to the assigned segment and territory, including prospect calling and cross-sell strategies.
    • Lead new or existing client call preparation, Business Process Reviews, proposal generation, presentations, relationship reviews, client and industry trend analysis, working capital analysis, and pricing proforma.
    • Analyze client financial statements and use industry benchmarks to provide insight regarding client/prospect cash flow and cash conversion cycles.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in knowledge of all TM solutions and their benefits to clients/prospects.
    • Identify new or existing client needs, prepare thorough proposals, and present customized TM solutions that include working capital analysis.
    • Work jointly with cross-functional teams to assist in overall solution development and value proposition.
    • Persuasively communicate Old National’s value-add proposition to both internal and external clients.
    • Understand competitive capabilities/gaps and position Old National effectively.
    • Actively manage and maintain a sales pipeline for new or existing clients.
    • Review TM sales goals with Relationship Managers (RMs) and other partners to ensure alignment on strategies and calling plans.
    • Attend prospecting calls, client events, and board meetings, serving as a resource for clients.
    • Participate in relevant business conferences to stay updated on industry knowledge.
    • Expand existing relationships, manage risk, and independently execute client calls on assigned portfolios.
    • Increase and/or maintain client retention probability.
    • Submit all required forms and information for TM product/service setup and onboarding.
    • Complete and respond to customer RFPs.
    • Coordinate implementation resources and assist with implementation meetings.
  • Partner Communication and Education:
    • Educate and advise RMs and other calling partners on new TM product initiatives.
    • Maintain communication with RMs and partners regarding new product developments, pipeline, and calling strategies.
    • Provide recommendations on TM sales opportunities for new prospects and cross-sell opportunities for existing clients.
  • Client Delivery:
    • Facilitate Treasury Management communications to clients and conduct client reviews (minimum annually).
    • Work closely with assigned TM Analyst to ensure excellent client service.
    • Develop knowledge of internal resources for accurate response to client issues.
    • Take ownership of escalated client issues and coordinate resolution with the TM Analyst and Support Team.
    • Communicate recurring or serious product issues to the TM Product Manager and recommend solutions.
    • Understand and communicate implementation timelines to align with client expectations.
    • Ensure proper account documentation, including accurate pricing and ongoing reporting/audit requirements.
    • Train clients on various Treasury Management products as needed.
    • Deliver an excellent client experience and enhance Old National’s brand.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business/Finance preferred or H.S. diploma/GED with equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of banking experience preferred, with 3-5 years in treasury management sales, service, and/or support (Corporate expertise preferred).
  • 2 years of sales/business development experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bank payment systems, treasury management solutions, and competitive practices.
  • Understanding of Treasury Management products in conjunction with ONB’s business model and strategic plan.
  • CTP Certification preferred or commitment to obtain certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and internal partners.
  • Client service experience (phone and face-to-face) with a track record of proactive solution development.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new circumstances and support different work styles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to grow, develop, and/or manage a client portfolio.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Treasury Management software/systems (ONB’s system preferred).
  • Travel may be required to other Old National, prospect, client, or meeting locations.

Key Measures of Success

  • Achieve annual new sales revenue goals for Treasury Management products and services.
  • Maintain and grow existing Treasury Management and deposit portfolios through client retention and relationship deepening.
  • Achieve overall Treasury Management revenue growth for the target portfolio.
  • Meet or exceed new deposit production goals.
  • Deliver an excellent client experience and enhance Old National’s brand.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $81,700.00/year to $165,100.00/year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications, and career level.
