About the Role
A Treasury Management Business Development Officer identifies and creates treasury management solutions for companies, associations, organizations, and municipalities, resulting in depository relationships. This role involves mining and servicing a personal deposit portfolio while identifying cross-sell opportunities with other areas of the bank.
Responsibilities
- Originate new treasury management relationships through networking and mining efforts.
- Cross-sell Treasury Management Products for your own portfolio and partner with Commercial Banking, Private Banking, and Business Banking to assist with depository and treasury sales.
- Develop proposals in response to RFPs.
- Maintain and service a significant depository portfolio as the primary account officer.
- Implement routine calling and servicing standards for the depository portfolio.
- Oversee special projects as needed.
- Provide operational support for all Treasury Management Products.
- Work with the Treasury Implementation and Service Team to ensure a smooth transition for new customers.
- Review customer accounts to ensure proper account type and handle inquiries or resolve issues.
- Assist branches in calling efforts and attend department meetings to educate other lines of business on Treasury Management Products.
Requirements
- BS/BA in business or finance.
- 3–5 years of sales experience in the banking industry.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Certified Cash Manager (CCM) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) preferred.
Working Conditions
- Primarily sedentary work performed in an office environment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with clients, team members, and vendors via phone, video, and in person.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents, and financial data.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies).
- Significant time spent outside the bank calling on prospective relationships and assisting lenders on sales calls.
