About the role

Amazon Transportation Services has built world-class Middle Mile operations which rely on an exceptional pool of carriers. The Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) team is looking for a high-judgment individual to join as a Transportation Risk Specialist, responsible for making compliance and monitoring programs run better, faster, and smarter while safeguarding the health of the organization and driving a culture of compliance both internally and externally.

The right candidate understands compliance and monitoring environments well enough to spot inefficiencies and has the technical capability to fix them or architect the fix. The successful candidate will be comfortable inheriting ambiguity, reshaping processes that aren't working, and building solutions that scale. They will have exceptional attention to detail, strong data-driven and tech mindset, excellent soft skills for stakeholder management, earning teams' trust, good team spirit, and autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and improve audit and monitoring activities by identifying inefficiencies in how they are designed, configured, and executed — then building or coordinating technical solutions
  • Automate and streamline internal team workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing consistency in how work gets planned, tracked, and delivered
  • Meet individual and team goals with the highest standards and diligence
  • Participate in special projects and/or assignments as necessary

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing confidential and sensitive employee information and adherence to strict confidentiality standards
  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Excel or SQL
  • Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements

Pay

Base salary range: USA, VA, Arlington — $55,600.00 - $97,400.00 USD annually; USA, WA, Bellevue — $80,200.00 - $97,400.00 USD annually. Package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
