About the role

At EquipmentShare, we're hiring a Traveling Technician (Mechanic) within our Austin, TX region. This role involves traveling and supporting branches by performing on-site equipment service, maintenance, and repairs. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, troubleshoot issues, and apply their electrical and hydraulic expertise to resolve problems efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Travel and support branches within your assigned region by performing on-site equipment service, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Address hard and soft down equipment, conduct machine inspections, and prepare units for use.
  • Work closely with customers, troubleshoot issues using real-time diagnostic tools, and apply your electrical and hydraulic expertise to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment, use technology comfortably, perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools, maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed, assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts, and be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand and power tools, schematics and diagrams.
  • High School diploma, or equivalent, and active applicable state class driver's license.
  • Construction knowledge and background preferred.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely, lift up to 50 pounds at times, and pass a 10 panel drug screen.

Pay

$20 - $25 per hour, plus overtime pay after working 40 hours. On call during the weekend only in special circumstances.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of overtime.
