We are ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies, seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Superintendent with 5-15+ years of experience leading commercial ground-up projects. As an ARCO/Murray Superintendent, you will manage all administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations from day one, empowered with the tools needed to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction.
- Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities, organization structure, staff selection, and equipment requirements.
- Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications, timelines, and profit expectations.
- Assist the project manager/engineer with material shipments, approvals of shop drawings, and material samples.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to align with project schedules and progress.
- Inform supervisors and subcontractors of any construction schedule changes.
- Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports to reflect actual costs accurately.
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant documents.
- Cooperate with owners, architects, and representatives while keeping them informed of progress.
- Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
- Report regularly to the project manager on progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
- Maintain a daily diary recording project facts, events, conditions, and commitments.
- Direct adherence to the company’s safety program across all project phases and areas.
- Make decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple activities to achieve results.
- Demonstrate leadership by addressing challenges, directing others, and resolving conflicts.
- Commit to quality by evaluating processes, incorporating customer feedback, and exceeding expectations.
- Act with integrity, supporting company values and maintaining focus on customer requirements.
Requirements
- 5-25+ years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a lead Superintendent.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
- Valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing/walking for long periods, navigating uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Pay
Typical base compensation for this role is between $90,000.00 and $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. The role is also eligible for discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.
