You will manage construction and administrative activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to specifications. Ideal candidates have 5-25 years of experience leading large-scale projects (100K sq ft and above).
Responsibilities
- Attend post-award review meetings to gather project details for preplanning before construction.
- Collaborate with the project manager to prepare construction schedules, organizational structures, staffing plans, and equipment requirements.
- Direct and control the entire construction project to meet specifications, timelines, and profit goals.
- Assist the project manager/engineer with material shipments, shop drawing approvals, and subcontractor coordination.
- Integrate subcontractor work with project schedules and promptly communicate schedule changes.
- Prepare accurate job progress and cost reports reflecting actual expenses.
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other key documents.
- Maintain strong cooperation with owners, architects, and representatives while advocating for company interests.
- Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager to discuss progress, plans, and challenges.
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, potential cost/schedule impacts, and other critical issues.
- Maintain a daily diary documenting project facts, events, conditions, and key interactions.
- Enforce the company’s safety program across all project phases and areas.
- Make decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple activities to achieve desired results.
- Demonstrate leadership by addressing challenges, directing teams, and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Commit to quality by evaluating processes, incorporating customer feedback, and exceeding expectations.
- Act with integrity, aligning actions with company values and customer requirements.
Requirements
- 5-25 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a lead superintendent on warehouse or distribution center projects (minimum 100K sq ft).
- At least five years of recent experience working in the Southeast.
- Willingness to travel nationally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling software.
- Valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing/walking for long periods (sometimes on uneven terrain), bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
