Traveling Superintendent - Commercial Construction

About the role

Seeking a driven Superintendent open to travel for larger commercial projects. Superintendents are assigned a specific project and responsible for successful, profitable delivery achieved by effective subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, and communications across the business.

The company is a very reputable, growing GC with a steady pipeline of projects including but not limited to casinos, hotels, condominiums, etc. They are an industry leader with regards to their employee benefits and consistently maintain good tenure across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project

Requirements

  • Proven experience with ground-up Commercial or Hospitality projects
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent
  • Ability to read and understand plans
  • Ability to travel throughout the Southeast long-term
  • Capable of problem solving and experience with complex detailed projects
  • Ability to work with subcontractors, suppliers, utilities, city inspectors, organize and direct activities concerned with their construction projects
  • Technical savvy individual - Procore is utilized onsite
  • Candidate should be able to operate independently while utilizing Senior Superintendent for support and guidance when needed
  • Desire to grow with a company long-term, not just run a project
