About the role

rand* construction is an award-winning, woman-owned national commercial contractor specializing in tenant interiors, retail, restaurants, and building renovations. Founded in 1989, rand* has grown to offer a wide range of services to national and regional clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work on exciting projects in different markets, often with extended overnight stays out of town.
  • Supervise work of all subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
  • Handle all correspondence and forms required by the rand* office, such as daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, accident reports, etc.
  • Monitor work being performed, direct subcontractors, and schedule work according to the project schedule.
  • Utilize management skills in directing supervision of subcontractors, and coordinate subcontractor activities within the scope of their duties.
  • Promote rand*’s reputation for exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or experience working in the trades, with college experience preferred.
  • 15 years’ experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail, or building renovation projects.
  • Exemplary performance in all project safety related categories.
  • Periodically audit jobsites during site walks to ensure standards are being met.
  • Aid teams with complex and specialty quality control issues.
  • Aid teams with pre-punch walks to identify quality trends and ensure smooth/timely punch list process.
  • Set the example of "do and teach" by training and coaching Superintendents at all levels to meet rand*'s high standards of administration and organization.
  • 6 years’ experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior projects.
  • OSHA 30; OSHA Competent Persons Training preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification Preferred.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail, or building renovation projects.
  • Proven track record of independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to anticipate and be proactive.
  • Ability to deal professionally and diplomatically with individuals at all levels.
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve highly complex project-related issues with all levels of team members.
  • Able to manage deadlines, deliver as needed.
  • Able to prioritize multiple assignments with a strong attention to detail.

Skills

  • Must have 10+ years’ experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail, or building renovation projects.

Schedule

This is a travel role. Travel may range from 90 miles from a local rand* office, to other states across the country.
