Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily on-site construction activities across multiple, staggered data center projects, ensuring work is executed to plan, on schedule, and within budget.
- Cookordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and craft personnel; enforce contractual scopes, quality standards, and productive sequencing of work.
- Oversee installation and integration of critical data center systems (power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, raised floor/containment, and MEP), working closely with engineers and commissioning teams.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and short-interval plans; proactively identify and mitigate schedule risks and critical path issues.
- Conduct regular quality inspections, punch lists, and commissioning support; ensure installation meets design, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Enforce strict safety and site compliance programs; lead daily safety briefings, incident investigations, and corrective actions to maintain a zero incident culture.
- Serve as primary on-site client and owner representative; provide clear status reporting, daily logs, progress photos, and timely communication to project management.
- Maintain accurate construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, O&M turnovers, and as-built records.
- Facilitate handover and commissioning activities with cross-functional teams to achieve timely acceptance and operational readiness.
- Travel frequently (domestic and possible international) to multiple project sites, adapt quickly to varying site conditions, and manage time and resources across locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience; relevant technical certifications a plus.
- 7+ years of Superintendent or Senior Field Leadership experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 35 years directly supporting data center or mission critical facilities.
- Strong working knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, fire suppression, and control systems).
- Proficient with construction scheduling and site documentation tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, PlanGrid, or similar).
- Committed to safety with OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent) and experience leading site safety programs.
- Valid drivers license; ability and willingness to travel 75% (or more depending on project needs).
