About the role
Leidos Defense Sensor is seeking a talented Traveling Software/Radar Engineer to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex sensor and radar-oriented problems. With offices across the United States engaging in defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, we provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.

Responsibilities
- Support advanced technology radar programs through local field testing and both CONUS and OCONUS test event support.
- Develop documentation to support installation and operation of systems to aid in training new personnel when not traveling or testing.
- Work closely with other skilled engineers during system installation and operation.
- Perform onsite network configuration and debugging alongside military personnel.
- Create or modify minor bash scripts to establish repeatable and simple solutions for day-to-day activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM-related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) from an ABET-accredited school plus 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience traveling for work and willingness to travel up to 75% to test events both CONUS and OCONUS for extended periods and on short notice.
- Excellent teamwork skills and demonstrated fundamentals in:
- RedHat Linux experience
- Bash scripting
- Networking experience
- Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- C++ development experience
- Active passport
Pay
Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
