Traveling Registered Dental Hygienist – Nursing Home Care

About the role

Aria Care Partners is a national provider of onsite dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care to over 3500 long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. The role involves providing treatment to patients in these facilities under the supervision of a DDS and clinical coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' lists and ensure all supplies/equipment are available.
• Transport, set-up, and take-down equipment and supplies in the designated workspace.
• Coordinate transfers of patients and their charts to and from the treatment room.
• Perform required care such as taking X-rays, cleaning teeth and dentures, applying sealants, and assessing oral health.
• Explain procedures to patients and follow up with facility staff.
• Enter chart notes into Salesforce at the time of treatment.
• Maintain OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations during patient treatment.
• Handle disposables correctly before leaving facilities.
• Check out with the dental contact at the facility, including reviewing chart notes.
• Leave printed copies of chart notes with facilities for patient charts.
• Work with the clinical support manager on scheduling and follow-up of patient care and treatment.
• Inventory supplies and order as needed.
• Follow regulated OSHA guidelines in handling and sterilizing instruments.
• Utilize personal vehicle for equipment/supply transport and traveling to scheduled facility visits.
• Be available via cell phone during workday.
• Expense purchases for office needs, unforeseen supply purchases, and other reimbursable business-related expenses.

Requirements

• Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing and 5 years’ experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with no moving violations in the last 5 years.
• Own reliable transportation.
• Ability to push/pull +/- 200 lbs. (ex. patients in wheelchair).
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in and out of vehicle and roll in and out of home/facilities.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Customer Service Skills – works with staff at nursing homes to meet their dental needs.
• Computer Skills – logs chart notes at the time of visit.
• Organization – keeps RDH supplies and dentures organized, updates daily schedule, and handles disposables correctly.
• Multi-Tasker – prioritizes and addresses multiple demands concurrently.
• Communication – communicates effectively with clinical coordinator, patients, responsible parties, and facility staff.
• Physical Efforts & Working Conditions – able to lift, transport, set-up, and take-down equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, push/pull + or - 200 lbs., and handle patient transfers.
