Traveling Registered Dental Hygienist – Nursing Home Care

About the role

Aria Care Partners is a national provider of onsite dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care to over 3500 long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. The role involves providing treatment to patients in these facilities, focusing on comprehensive care for an underserved population.

Responsibilities

  • Review patients lists prior to visit and ensure all supplies/equipment are available.
  • Transport, set-up and take down equipment and supplies in designated workspace.
  • Coordinate patient transfers and handle issues related to transport.
  • Perform required care including taking X-rays, cleaning teeth and dentures, applying sealants, and assessing oral health.
  • Communicate procedures to patients and follow up with facility staff.
  • Enter chart notes into Salesforce and ensure OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations are followed.
  • Maintain dental equipment through cleaning and maintenance routines, inventory supplies, and order as needed.
  • Handle disposables correctly and leave printed copies of chart notes with facilities.
  • Check out with dental contacts, review chart notes, and manage patient care schedules.
  • Utilize personal vehicle for transport and travel to facility visits.
  • Be available via cell phone during workday and manage reimbursable business-related expenses.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing and 5 years’ experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with no moving violations in the last 5 years.
  • Own reliable transportation.
  • Ability to push/pull +/- 200 lbs. and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Customer Service Skills – works with nursing home staff to meet dental needs.
  • Computer Skills – logs chart notes at time of visit.
  • Organization – keeps supplies and dentures organized, maintains daily schedule.
  • Multi-Tasker – prioritizes and addresses multiple demands.
  • Communication – communicates with clinical coordinator, patients, responsible parties, and facility staff.
  • Physical Efforts & Working Conditions – lifts, transports, sets up, and takes down equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
