About the Role

An Electrical Quality Control Specialist ensures the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical systems and equipment across projects and manufacturing processes. This role involves inspecting, testing, and assessing electrical components to meet industry standards, regulations, and internal quality requirements. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections and tests on electrical systems, components, and equipment to verify functionality and adherence to quality standards.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure electrical systems are built and maintained to the highest standards.
• Develop and enforce quality control procedures and guidelines to prevent defects and ensure product reliability.
• Monitor compliance with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure safety and legal adherence.
• Accurately document inspection and testing results, create reports, and maintain detailed records of quality control processes.
• Report non-compliance issues and collaborate with teams to address and rectify them.
• Continuously assess and improve quality control processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
• Oversee calibration and maintenance of electrical testing equipment for accurate results.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to provide training on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Perform root cause analysis for quality-related issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Evaluate electrical component suppliers to ensure their products meet required quality standards.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient processes, project completion, and smooth department operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Quality Control, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications and technical training are advantageous.
• Proven experience in quality control within the electrical industry, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or engineering projects.
• Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and inspection techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, ISO 9001).
• 75-100% travel as required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work indoors or outdoors, exposed to hot/cold temperatures and all-weather elements (rain, heat, cold, snow).
• Work at extreme heights, in under-construction areas, or restricted spaces (switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
• Work in confined spaces, on slippery/uneven surfaces, ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, ditches, and excavations.
• Work in and around single/multi-story buildings with typical heavy construction site exposures, including portable sanitary facilities.
• Must bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Lift 51 pounds routinely.
• Constantly move about on feet and climb ladders of all types.
• Complete full-day assignments involving overhead work.
• Transition from parking/street to construction work areas, accessing all building levels via OSHA-approved ladders or stairs.
• Secure tools/materials from storage areas to complete tasks.
• Good vision (normal or corrected), including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Good hearing (normal or corrected).
• Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
• Work 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week, with overtime, weekends, and night shifts as required.
• Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.
• Work in the presence of customers/representatives with minimal disruption while maintaining professionalism.
