Traveling Nuclear Medicine Tech
We are seeking a skilled nuclear medicine technologist to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, preparing and administering radioactive drugs and operating radiation detection and imaging equipment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals
- Operate and perform quality control on nuclear medicine cameras
- Conduct general nuclear medicine imaging
- Perform EKG preparation and monitoring for cardiac exams
- Receive and document radioactive shipments
- Complete NRC-required daily and weekly quality control
- Utilize equipment including SIEMENS Dual Headed ECAM with ESOFT Processing, CAPTUS 3000, NMIS, and GE MAC 5000
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine technology
- State license and certification to practice nuclear medicine (active Hawaii license required by start of assignment)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- 2–3 years of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist
- ARRT or CNMT certification in Nuclear Medicine
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Scheduled 40 hours weekly following the first week of orientation
- Floating based on competency and licensure

Location Highlights
Hilo is a waterfront community on Hawaii Island with access to Rainbow Falls and Liliuokalani Gardens within about 10 minutes of central Hilo. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is about 45 miles southwest, and Richardson Ocean Park offers black sand shoreline and tide pool viewing close to town. Downtown Hilo includes the Hilo Farmers Market and historic Bayfront area, with local shops, dining, and ocean views in a walkable setting. The area also provides access to Akaka Falls State Park in about 25 minutes and routes along Saddle Road for cross-island travel.
