Traveling Industrial Superintendent
Role Purpose
The Industrial Superintendent serves as the on-site leader and core value champion for Miranda Construction projects across the region. You will be responsible for on-site coordination across all phases of construction—directing subcontractors, managing schedules, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring every project is completed safely, on time, and in full compliance with plans and specifications regardless of location.
Essential Responsibilities
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in a critical path sequence to ensure timely project completion
- Walk all project areas daily to monitor work progress and support forward planning
- Preserve and preside over weekly subcontractor coordination meetings to align the work and address issues proactively
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for timely resolution
- Perform ongoing quality control inspections and enforce strict adherence to plans, specifications, and local codes
- Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors for deficient work, scheduling failures, or safety violations
- Ensure all identified deficiencies are corrected by the responsible subcontractor prior to proceeding
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and applicable authorities
- Perform job progress punch lists and completion walkthroughs with thoroughness and accountability
- Ensure each subcontractor is fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work
- Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards
- Communicate with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals
- Preside at pre-construction meetings with each subcontractor to align expectations before work begins
- Maintain a daily report of all site activities, workforce levels, and notable events
- Gather and maintain project material submittals and records of approvals at the job site
- Communicate drawing and specification conflicts or deviations to the project team prior to execution
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable Superintendent or Lead Foreman experience on industrial construction projects
- Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex industrial jobsite sequencing
- Thorough knowledge of construction trades and sequencing
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively for projects. Experience working on remote or out-of-town assignments preferred
- Strong understanding of industrial construction means, methods, and safety requirements
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and Microsoft Project
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, safety rules, and procedure manuals
- Computer literate; proficiency with digital communication tools and job site documentation platforms
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role requires full engagement in an active construction site environment—both indoors and outdoors. Candidates must be comfortable with the following: regular standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling; lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs occasionally; work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions; travel to assigned job sites as required by vehicle or by air; work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules as project demands require; stay overnight and work extended periods away from home as required by project assignments.
