About the role

A Homes Renovation Specialist works on various types of projects, including constructing buildings, erecting temporary structures, plumbing, lighting, road maintenance or paving, drainage, sewer projects, and home refurbishments. The role requires safe and effective use of tools and equipment, physical strength to lift objects up to 100 lbs, and the ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures or unfavorable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Refurbish and set homes as assigned, including but not limited to:
    • Building decks
    • Plumbing and drainage work
    • Electrical work (knowledge of voltage and breakers)
    • Paving and concrete work
    • Flooring installation
    • Skirting/underpinning
    • Painting
    • Cabinet installation and alignment
    • Other project-related tasks
  • Meet deadlines assigned by the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and prepare for assigned projects at communities.
  • Operate, run, and maintain large equipment and power tools.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure project completion.
  • Work with contractors, maintenance staff, local government offices, permitting agencies, and community managers on project coordination.
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple project options.
  • Operate a personal or company vehicle for supply pickups or offsite business.
  • Report regularly to the supervisor to align projects with goals.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with all internal and external partners.
  • Devote working time, attention, and skills to the employer’s business interests in good faith.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Maintain a safe working environment through safe work practices and reporting safety concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.

Physical Demands

  • Travel required approximately 75%–100% of the time, or as needed.
  • Work 5 days per week (Monday–Friday), capable of working 8+ hours per day with occasional longer days for resident meetings.
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 100+ lbs.
  • Stand for long periods with regular breaks; may require climbing, crawling, bending, or crouching.
  • Work outside, walking across communities in various weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Walk up and down stairs and climb ladders.
