About the role
The Field Service Representative - Power Distribution is responsible for a variety of tasks including installation, inspection, and testing of customer equipment. They also provide technical support, develop training materials, and maintain customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and test customer equipment
- Provide documentation, including test reports and service summaries
- Instruct customers and personnel on equipment operation and maintenance
- Perform warranty work and start-up service
- Construct and test circuits and equipment using various tools and machines
- Interpret maintenance manuals and diagnose equipment issues
- Consult with product support and engineering personnel to resolve complex problems
- Report customer suggestions for product improvement
- Develop and implement training courseware and provide training
- Maintain service equipment, tools, and documentation
- Contribute to project coordination and execution on customer sites
- Support Level 2 and Level 3 Field Service Representatives
- Perform basic audits of customer electrical systems and equipment
- Document all required information for each site
- Communicate with Project Coordinators to ensure smooth execution
- Properly document, label, and return defective parts to designated locations
Requirements
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship (8,000 hours) or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in military positions such as Navy Nuclear Electronic Technician or Electrician’s Mate
- Electrical start-up and testing experience including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, and capacitor banks
- The ability to effectively communicate in the English language
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- Education: Completion of an electrical apprenticeship (8,000 hours) or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience: Military experience within the following positions: Navy Nuclear Electronic Technicians and Electrician’s Mate or Experience: Electrical start-up and testing experience including: circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, and capacitor banks
- Skills: The ability to effectively communicate in the English language
Skills
Desired skills include:
- Ability to interpret blueprints and service documents
- Knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct equipment faults
- Technical support in product service, product training, and applications
- Development and implementation of training courseware
- Customer relationship management

Pay

Schedule
This position works between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. May vary based on customer demands and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays.
