Traveling Fiber Technician

LINX · Houston, TX · 4 wk ago
Engineering$30–$40/hrFull-time

About the role

LINX is hiring Fiber Technicians for its travel-based team that deploys to enterprise, hyperscale, and hyperscale data center builds across the country. This is a 100% travel role. You will work project to project across the country, splicing, testing, and installing fiber infrastructure alongside experienced technicians who will train you on ribbon and single fiber fusion splicing, inspection scopes, and Visual Fault Locators. If you want to work in a trade that stays in demand as data centers and fiber networks expand nationwide, and you want to see the country while you do it, this is the role for you. The Fiber Team is a parallel specialist track within LINX’s low voltage field structure. It sits alongside, not on top of, the standard Technician through Superintendent ladder. Every role on the Fiber Team specializes in fiber splicing. Fiber Technician → Fiber Specialist → Sr. Fiber Specialist. Founded in 2003 by working industry practitioners, LINX has grown into a national commercial low voltage contractor with completed projects in all 50 states. LINX's dedicated fiber deployment team is built to meet the accelerating demand for high-density fiber infrastructure across enterprise and hyperscale data center construction. As data center buildouts continue to scale nationally, the Fiber Specialist track is becoming one of the fastest-growing technical career paths inside LINX, with a direct line into technical leadership and training roles within the company.
