Traveling Electrical Superintendent

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will supervise construction sites, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules while traveling to various project locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operations on construction sites and monitor the short-term schedule.
• Review and support hiring needs; assist the Project Manager in preparing construction schedules.
• Maintain quality control and coordination with other trades.
• Train, manage, and evaluate project team members; ensure proper manpower utilization through daily scheduling.
• Maintain daily reports, time sheets, safety and accident reports.
• Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to resolve conflicts.
• Plan, organize, and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs; ensure installations meet electrical code standards.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to expedite and receive materials as needed for project construction.
• Recognize and communicate priority project problems (e.g., employee issues, job costing) to the Project Manager.
• Empower, train, and support the growth and development of all field employees.
• Conduct employee counseling, including documenting and following up on corrective measures.
• Ensure proper paperwork is completed prior to layoffs or terminations.
• Verify all installations comply with NEC, city codes, and engineering drawings/specifications.
• Conduct 90-day, annual, and end-of-project reviews for job performance.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman’s or Master’s License in the state of Texas or Oklahoma.
• Prior knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand the estimating process.
• Must be safety-oriented with strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word; exposure to Accubid is a plus.
• Ability to travel to project areas as needed; mobility to various locations is required.
• Work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required).
• Able to work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as required.
• Physical demands include crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and routinely lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers; physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job.
