About the role

Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Traveling Construction Superintendent to service clients in PSI's West Region. This is a traveling position primarily focused on supervising, inspecting, and approving day-to-day operations of the Design Build Division projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, inspect, and approve day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects.
  • Complete all required on-site paperwork.
  • Coordinate construction projects with store management, subcontractors, and PSI employees.
  • Represent PSI with professionalism and integrity.
  • Schedule, lead, and manage subcontractors as appropriate.
  • Set expectations of subcontractors and hold them accountable for results.
  • Provide direct accountability for job safety reporting and documentation.
  • Complete reports and documentation required or requested by management.
  • Inspect and secure job sites to prevent damage and theft.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety standards.
  • Establish sequence and manner to carry out work, consistent with Project Manager's direction to keep the project on schedule.
  • Study, understand, and direct others to perform work based on construction drawings.
  • Prepare and document job meetings, safety meetings, reports, daily pictures, and logs.
  • Accomplish any other task that may be required at any given time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of prior construction superintendent experience.
  • Read and understand drawings and specs; ensure all scopes are completed in accordance with prints and specs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency with phone and computer, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and sending photos.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, work Friday through Saturday if needed, and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification, basic first aid, and CPR training.
  • Willingness to work at night if required.
  • Ability to learn quickly and make educated decisions to maintain schedule.
  • Solid work ethic with willingness to do what is needed to complete the job and remain on schedule.
  • Understand projects from start to finish and anticipate potential problems.
  • Manage both subcontractors and PSI employees.
  • Communicate with clients, provide project details, and keep them updated with the schedule.
  • Identify and solve problems.
  • Manage actual schedule, including two-week lookaheads.

Pay

$100,000 - $120,000+ depending on experience.
