About the role

The Traveling Project Manager (Midwest) reports to the Senior Project Manager and works primarily in the South Bend, Indiana area, with potential to support projects in Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Mitigate and manage project risk, and elevate concerns – and solutions – quickly to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership
  • Create and manage the full project schedule from project kickoff to project closeout
  • Manage all project finance requirements, including billings, project setup, project buy-out, project cost control, change order management, and cost to complete
  • Earn the trust of clients by cultivating relationships, communicating swiftly, collaborating, and solving challenges
  • Chair project meetings including planning, progress updates, and reviews with customers
  • Work with departments across the organization to ensure that project materials are available and in place as needed
  • Serve as a key leader to our project team, and provide clear communication and guidance to all team members
  • Review all project documents including estimates, design drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Maintain a high degree of safety on our work across the jobsite
  • Timely completion of all job closeout procedures

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in commercial construction project management or equivalent electrical construction experience
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Leadership qualities and ability to motivate and mentor junior colleagues

Qualifications

  • Construction Management degree, Engineering degree, Construction Management Program certificate, or another related degree
  • Experience with design-build, hard bid, and negotiated projects around $5M to $50M
  • Extensive knowledge in construction management software
  • Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Pay

Pay Range: $165,000 – $230,000*

Actual total compensation will vary depending on project location and travel requirements.

Schedule

This role requires flexibility and willingness to travel and temporarily reside near project sites for extended project assignments.
